3 June 2013 Lunch at Restaurant La Flotille at Château de Versailles

Commenced Our Journey at Métro Bastille
then took the RER C from Gare d'Austerlitz to Versailles - Château Rive Gauche - a 40 minute train ride.

Some remains of the Bastille on one of the platforms at Métro Bastille.
Our local Métro.

Walking up to the Main entrance of Palais de Versailles.
We are there to have a look at the gardens in June.
In March last year we spent a day in the Palace and the gardens.

Equestrian Bronze Statue of Louis XIV

Entered the gardens to the right of the Palace.
It's a Monday and the Palace is closed, therefore
not a lot of tourists.

Walked out to the North Parterre.

More of the North Parterre.

A Pyramid fountain at the end of the North Parterre.

A modern sculpture in between the Water Parterre.

Nymphe and Young Triton
on one side of the Water Parterre.

Looking back at the Palace from the Water Parterre.

Looking down to the Grand Canal from the Water Parterre.
The construction work at the front is where they are restoring the Latona Fountain.
Luckily, we saw it in all its glory last year.
